What sets MIRA apart?

As a one-stop-shop MIRA is able to design, develop and test a range of products including all types of vehicles and their systems using an impressive range of CAE tools and engineering facilities.  There is a danger that this can make MIRA appear very general when in fact, through the talented people we employ, MIRA is very much a specialist provider of specific engineering capabilities.

The consultants and highly qualified engineers at MIRA set us apart from other engineering service providers.  Yes, we have an enviable tool kit but it is how our engineers apply these tools that enable us to deliver best-in-class products for our clients.

Our consultancy services are key to delivering our product engineering, testing, certification and research capabilities.  Indeed for many of our customers they are the main reason they choose MIRA as their engineering partner.

A sound investment:

Failure investigations and problem solving are profitable business streams for MIRA so you might be surprised to read that we encourage  customers to invest in some MIRA consultancy at the start of an engineering project.  This isn't entirely altruistic; it is our customers success and their repeat business that keeps us in business.

Support when you need it:

The beauty of MIRA's consultancy services is that they can be employed when you need them to supplement your own engineering resources.

Combining the best of CAE and experimental methods

MIRA is very highly regarded throughout the global automotive industry for its broad ranging capability and expertise in CAE simulation - and the ability to correlate and utilise these techniques with physical test development.  Moreover, MIRA has invested heavily in developing co-simulation techniques where we use the most effective tools available, be they test, simulation or hand calculation, to obtain the most accurate boundary conditions possible.  This ability to use combination of tools enables our engineers to build sophisticated models that deliver results our customers can have confidence in.

Under-bonnet temperature prediction using co-simulation

A diverse range of experience over a 60-year history has enabled MIRA to build up specialist knowledge and expertise in many key areas of 'attribute' engineering. In many cases MIRA could be considered a leader and pioneer in the particular field. As well as making extensive use of proprietary CAE tools the many co-simulation methods MIRA has developed extend the application of a CAE approach to vehicle engineering scenarios beyond that of the proprietary tools available.
