MIRA HOST EMISSIONS SEMINAR WITH FOCUS ON ENGINE MANAGEMENT ISSUES
"The trends in engine management system development are now clear with ever more demanding emissions control requirements. Calibration must keep pace with these changes, and the lot of the calibrator is a challenging one; system complexity is increasing and development times are reducing," says John Haselden, Manager Powertrain & Emissions Technology at MIRA.
Following the success of the previous seminar; 'Emissions versus Fuel Economy', MIRA is to host the third Emissions Seminar which will focus on the pivotal role played by calibration in achieving emissions compliance. This seminar entitled 'Calibration: The Route to Emissions Compliance', will be held at MIRA's Nuneaton base on 2 October. "It will provide a forum for a lively debate between the calibrators and the tool developers concerning current systems applications and look ahead to the development of virtual engines that might even remove the need for a dynamometer engine in generating first cut calibration maps" says John Haselden.
Keynote Speaker, Jon Hassan of Zytek Systems Ltd, will set the tone for the day which will include presentations by many key players in the industry from tool developers through to OEM and Tier 1 end users.
