MIRA Employee BenefitsCompany Pension SchemeMIRA is a participating institution in the Universities Superannuation Scheme. The scheme is a final salary defined benefit scheme and is open to all new eligible employees. For further details please contact the personnel department or visit www.usshq.co.uk Permanent Health InsuranceSubject to eligibility conditions and claim acceptance by the insurer's all employees are protected by Permanent Health Insurance. At present 50% of salary is payable for a maximum of two years (or to the age of 65 if sooner) following a qualifying period of 3 months absence on sick leave. The duration and level of benefit may be changed by MIRA in the future without notice Sports & Social ClubEmployees can join the sports and social club for a small amount each month. There is a function room on site and the S&SC committee organise various events including quizzes, themed party nights, bonfire and fireworks party, amongst other things. There are also various sporting sections which employees can get involved with including football, running, golf, short mat bowls, clay pigeon shooting and fishing to name a few. There are all of these facilities on site in Nuneaton , plus tennis, netball courts and cricket nets. Staff RestaurantThere is a staff restaurant on site at Nuneaton which offers breakfasts, and hot and cold lunches to eat in or take out. HolidaysMIRA offers the equivalent of 27 or 29 days holiday a year (in hours) to full time employees, plus 8 bank holiday days. The amount depends on the grade of employee. Maternity / Paternity / Adoption LeaveMIRA offers enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave, subject to rules of the scheme. Full details are available from MIRA’s Personnel Department. Flexi-timeMIRA operates an excellent flexi-time system in order to encourage flexible working for the Company and the individual. Staff have the opportunity to redeem flexi-time at the year end, subject to rules of the scheme. Subsidised Corporate ClothingStaff are entitled to purchase a limited amount of corporate clothing each year, part subsidised by their department. Lindley Education FundLindley Education Fund exists to support staff with payment for further education courses in subjects unrelated to their work. Up to £100 towards the cost of course fees at local centres of further education is payable at the discretion of the trustees during any 12 month period. Local DiscountsMIRA has negotiated discounts with many of their approved suppliers and local stores. These include discounts for travel, sports shops, gym membership, physiotherapy and local leisure attractions. Work Life BalanceMIRA offers staff the opportunity to work flexibly, in order to attain a balance between their home and work life. The Work Life Balance scheme is very comprehensive and is open to all staff regardless of their personal circumstances. Flexible working applications are considered on a case-by-case basis. Examples of current MIRA Work Life Balance arrangements include 9 day fortnight, compressed hours, working from home, career break etc. Professional SubscriptionsMIRA will pay the corporate membership subscription and related engineering council fee (if applicable) for one professional institution for each employee, providing that membership is relevant to their work, e.g. IMechE, IET, BCS etc. Payment is subject to the rules of MIRA’s procedure. |
